I am thrilled to finally announce that my second cookbook is coming out this fall. It’s called BOWLS, and it’s all about food you can eat out of my favorite receptacle.
Over the weekend, Dave took Darrol Henry up to Asheville to visit Dave’s sister, Liz. The idea behind the trip was to give me a break from momming. I had 27 hours of me time. It was glorious.
I treated the weekend like a writing retreat and spent all day Saturday and half of Sunday working on BOWLS! Seriously, I sat down at 9am when they hit the road. Suddenly I looked up and it was 4:30 and I had hit just about the halfway point for getting this book completely ready to publish.
There are still photos to take, some recipes to test and tweak, and a cover design to create, but hitting that halfway point was too exciting to keep to myself.
Bowls Cookbook and My Mini Writing Retreat
I can’t tell you how good it feels to be working on a big project again. This is the biggest project I’ve been able to take on since having a baby, and that one-day retreat was a big part of taking this book from a folder full of recipes to looking like a for-reals cookbook.
Dave and I talked about it, and we’re going to take turns giving each other mini retreats like this. It can be hard to maintain work-life balance as a parent, and this plan is going to make a big difference for both of us in the work arena, I think.
We don’t have a set publish date yet, but I definitely want this sucker available in the fall. Once things get a little bit further along, I’ll be able to announce the exact release date for the BOWLS cookbook.
