Knitting Projects that Make Me Wish I Knitted
It’s a little strange to me that the hottest month of the year is the one that has me wondering if I ought to figure out knitting after all. I’ve tried knitting before, and I am terrible at it. Terrible! The same with crochet. I just can’t wrap my head around it. That’s especially a bummer right now, because this seems to be the The Week of the Awesome Knitting Projects. Ready?
The Dharma Scarf

You know I’m LOST-obsessed. My friends make fun of my no-talking rule while we’re watching new episodes, but I’m not sorry! This is LOST! Dharma! Hanso! This is serious business. I am full of scarf-awe. Click the picture to check out more of Genegrl1′s pictures of this scarf and her other craftiness on Flickr.
The Mario Scarf

Cassie is on a quest to knit a scarf depicting the entire 1-1 level of Super Mario Brothers! Amazing!! And so ambitious! I remember playing this game when I was wee. I’d stay up so late trying to beat the game/arguing with my sister about who’s turn it was! I wonder if I still remember that castle maze and all its tricks!
In conclusion, all of this has me wondering if I ought to pick up the knitting needles again and give it one more shot.

OMG. The entire level one of Mario? THAT IS SO COOL.
The woman knitting this scarf lives in East Atlanta! I sort of want to meet her!!
What great projects! I recently learned how to knit using a website and I wanted to pass it along. It has a few basic how to videos with tips on knitting. I’m not sure if you’re interested in how to knit videos, but I found these useful when I was just starting out.
Oh rad!! I’m totally going to bookmark that site, Kate!
hey!! I had some friends over tonight and it turns out my boyfriend’s friend cassis made that mario scarf and is having a meet up at joes coffee in east Atlanta on Sunday at 2pm (for knitting chat and if anyone wants to see the scarf!). I’m going, thought you might be interested!!
