I usually drive behind them slowly until I can pass them with a bunch of room. I think there are laws in some places about how much room you're supposed to leave, but I don't know about here. I wish there were more (and bigger) bike lanes in Atlanta. It scares me too much to ride my bike around here! Speaking of bikes, what is the proper etiquette (or law) when you come alongside a bike but you are blocked on the left to pass with plenty of space? I usually drive slowly behind the cyclist until I am able to pass but I don't know if this is annoying or if it is better if I drive past, with a little less than the desired amount of space.
