Vegan Ranch Dressing? Could it Be?
This past summer, Dave and I got into heading to The Highlander, a bar right next to the Midtown Art Cinema, and playing Scrabble. We would each get a pint and a salad and split a bowl of their fantastical tater tots while I trounced him at Scrabble. He always ordered his salads with ranch dressing.

Recently, he’s been sort of avoiding dairy, which means avoiding the ranch, too. It sort of bummed me out that when I made salads for us at home, he didn’t have his favorite dressing. But! All of that is about to change, because someone tipped me off to Kraft Cucumber Ranch!
You guys, this stuff is amazing!!! It’s totally vegan and tastes great! I had some on a salad with my lunch and am planning to eat more with dinner. I can’t wait to dip carrot sticks in it. And oven fries! And tater tots! And pizza crust! This changes everything. Hurrah!

***EDIT***
Kraft has changed the recipe for this dressing, and it’s no longer vegan. Boo! Luckily, my pal Leigh has a great recipe for home made vegan ranch.

The dressing you linked has dried sour cream listed as an ingredient. Does the label on your bottle differ?
Oh no! The one in my pantry doesn’t! Let me fix that link!
Aha! I accidentally linked the “light” version. The full fat one is the vegan one. Thanks for catching that!
Cool! Good to know!
I was pleasantly surprised my self. I was trashing all dairy products as part of a new year resolution when I got stuck at the trash can combing through the ingredients of this ranch dressing. Thinking that maybe dairy was hidden in one of those ‘big words’, I decided to Google the issue.
