If there’s an idea on Change.org that you wanted to vote for, today is your last chance! I got an email reminder listing the five ideas I’d voted for and thought I’d post them here in case anyone was interested. Click the links to go to the voting page at Change.org:

  1. Save handmade toys from the CPSIA. This act was not well thought out and did not at all take into account small businesses and individuals who make handmade toys.
  2. A victory garden at the White House. You can read more about that one here
  3. Healthy school lunches for our kids. Less junk, salt, and sugar, more fruits and veggies!
  4. Ending marijuana prohibition. Between its medicinal uses and the senseless jailing of the nonviolent folks who sell and use it, marijuana prohibition strikes me as completely silly. How about we make some room in our prisons for the real bad guys?
  5. Complete the U.S.’s adoption of the metric system. The entire world pretty much uses metric aside from the U.S. Let’s march into the present!

Obviously, if you wanted to vote for any of these, it would be amazing! What did you vote for on Change.org? I’m sure there are some really good ideas that I totally missed!

It was rad meeting you last night–the dress is great! I definitely love the idea of a White House victory garden; my mental picture of Obama pulling weeds from the squash patch is pretty awesome. :)

You, too! I’m glad you like the dress. I thought it was a perfect fit!

Every time I see footage of the WH now, I imagine rows of carrots and corn out front!
