Fabric Scrap Bouquet

A few years ago, my friend Ally gave me a gift with a fabric flower embellishing the wrapping. It was gorgeous! I loved it so much that I pulled it off the gift, glued a pin backing on it and still wear it to this day. Since Dave and I are headed to his folks’ place for Easter, I wanted a hostess gift for his mom. She always sets such a lovely table and goes out of her way to make sure I’ve got lots of vegan options to munch on.

Scrap Flowers

Inspired by Ally’s flower, I made my mother-in-law this fancy pants bouquet out of fabric scraps! It was really fun and simple. If you want to make one, too, you can learn how with my tutorial on greenUPGRADER!

The “vase” is a wooden spool left over from vintage thread that Dave’s grandma gave me, along with an insane haul of vintage sewing supplies including her old Singer Style-o-Matic. I sort of thought using something of her mom’s made this gift a little more personal.

So cute and clever!! The gears in your brain must always be spinning… ;). I was just telling Nick how I’d like to make his mom something for Mother’s Day. I may borrow this idea!
