That’s right! After lots of hunting around, it’s finally time to tell you guys that I’m replacing the two-tier stainless steel lunchboxes with something a bit different. Meet the Lock & Lock.
Lock & Lock Lunchbox

I’ve been getting a little tired of the metal boxes for a number of reasons. They aren’t microwaveable, and they aren’t as leak-proof as I’d like. I still think they’re really fun and definitely plan to keep using mine, but it was time to mix things up a bit, and these Lock & Lock containers are totally rad!

Not only are they way better for toting liquids and safe for the microwave, I was really interested in finding a company that was a bit more transparent. It always bugged me that I knew so little about the company that made the old boxes. Lock & Lock has not only passed rigorous food safety tests here in the US, but the materials they use have passed the food safety test from SGS, a rigorous third-party testing company.

But wait! There is even more that makes this company awesome. They’re all about giving back to their community and reducing their impact on the environment. I am in love with their slogan:

Let us give love to difficult neighbors and protect the environment to be more beautiful and clean.

You can read all about their projects, from community outreach to tree-planting right here.

Exciting, right? If you want to pick up a Lunch Kit with a Lock & Lock lunchbox, I’ve got all my Lunch Kit listings updated to include the new box! I’ve still got some of the old stainless steel ones hanging around, too. If you’re looking to pick up one of the metal boxes, just contact me about prices!
