I'm gonna do the tire/potato thingy this year. I picked up my first discarded tired off the street today, and my neighbors have more. I need a local (ATL) source for seed potatoes, though - interesting ones. Anybody?

Oh awesome! I might take you up on a couple of seed potatoes - I need to peek at the yard and see where they'd fit!

How does the tire dealie work as far as harvesting the stuff closer to the ground? Do you just lift up the tires? I'm picturing potatoes growing all up inside the tires where you couldn't get at them. Or maybe it's just a two-man job to harvest!

Hey lady! I have about 10 varieties of seed potatoes waiting to be planted. I'm giving some to LL, but I've got more than I can use so I'll be happy to share. We went on a hunt around the neighborhood for old tires last weekend and filled up Nick's truck. We are gonna give the potato tire tower a try.

Also you when planting potatoes you want to make sure to get seed potatoes not just regular potatoes from the store. Potatoes are really susceptable to lots of diseases and seed potatoes are certified to be disease free and will give much higher yeilds.
