I think this is a baby beet

It’s Earth Day, and my little container garden is chugging along. Go, little herbs and veggies, go! Here are even more pictures:

Baby cucumber
I can’t believe I only planted these cucumber seeds 2 weeks ago. Lookin good, guys!

Leek Sprouting
This leek came with my CSA delivery. I just stuck the end bit with the root into this windowbox, and it seems to be coming right back! This works with scallions, too.

So what’s going on in your garden? Did anyone start the a potato box? A couple of you said you were planning to. I’d love to see pictures!

My brother-in-law gave it to us. We’ll see what happens.

Oh cool! Did you get the As Seen on TV one, or make it yourself?

I’m not growing potatoes, but we did get an upside down tomato plant thingy and we are hanging it off of the back deck. My brother-in-law says that it works. We’ll see.

  4. Becky says:

Aw, that sounds lovely! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for those tomato seedlings, too!

That’s an awesome leek! I love leeks; I am totally gonna try that.

I mostly have flowers blooming right now (pansies, azaleas and a couple colorful little Gerber daisies!), and my little cherry tomato plant got a little beaten up in a skirmish with a puppy, but I have about a zillion seedlings that I have my fingers crossed about.
