ARTlantis Call for Crafters!
My pal Mark over at Beep Beep Gallery is looking for crafters to apply for the gallery’s very first outdoor show: ARTlantis!

The event is rain or shine, and he told me they were going to get a couple of big tents, so no need to even have a tent for this show! Between that and the super-affordable table fee, you’d be almost crazy not to apply! The only reason that I can’t is because it’s the day before Dave and I leave for our mini PHISH TOUR! I definitely want to try to pop in, though…Beep Beep is awesome, and they have a rad lineup of music!
Here’s what Mark had to say about the show:
Beep Beep Gallery is proud to present ARTlantis, an all day festival featuring subterranean local art and music!
As you may know we’ve always been fiercely local and always plotting new ways to showcase our favorite local talents. As such, we’ve teemed up with Aurora Coffee and Criminal Records to create a festival dedicated to spotlighting local artists and musicians. ARTlantis will take place SATURDAY JUNE 6TH on the lawn of the Druid Hills Baptist Church located on the corner of Ponce & Highland. Conveniently, ARTlantis takes place on the same day as SummerFest, which is Virginia Highlands’s annual summer shindig and which will provide an insane amount of people. We will have bands playing all day and grill hot dogs and burgers (both meat and veggie varieties).
We’re looking for artists who would like space at ARTLANTIS to showcase their work. We’ll provide the tents, tables, and walls to hang art on so you don’t have to worry about a thing. Cost to rent a booth should range anywhere from $50-$75 (depending on your needs) and we will give you around 6 – 8 ft (width) of space to display your work. We hope this an affordable rate for everyone and from what we’ve gathered from other festivals the application fee is usually $200-$400 not including your set-up.
Also we have assembled an eclectic group of artists, critics, curators, and gallery owners to serve as jury of this years event. Artists will choose one piece of work to serve as their entry which will then be judged by the jury. The best in show will be awarded the first ever, and therefore most prestigious, ARTlantis Jury Prize.
If you’re interested in applying, just hit up mark@beepbeepgallery.com. Space is very limited, but they’re still looking to fill some spaces.
