This is a cookie recipe from way back, and it’s one of my favorites!

  • 2c unbleached flour (wheat is OK, if you want!)
  • 2t baking powder
  • 1/4t baking soda
  • 1/2t salt
  • 1t cinnamon
  • 1.5c chopped walnuts
  • 1/2c canola (or other neutral) oil
  • 3/4c maple syrup
  • 1.5t vanilla

Preheat the oven to 350. Mix the dry ingredients in a big ol bowl. Mix the wet ingredients in a smaller bowl. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and knead until everything is well-mixed, then drop spoonfuls onto an ungreased cookiesheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes.

EAT! These cookies disappear almost as soon as they come out of the oven, if you are not careful. Poof!

Makes 18-24 cookies, depending on how generous your spoonfuls are.

I tried them.they absolutely SUCK!!!!!! Save your expensive walnuts and maple syrup for a different recipe. Readers beware!!! Look at the recipe. No SUGAR, I was too dumb to notice. They taste like crap…………..

Wow, I’m sorry to hear you didn’t enjoy my cookies! This recipe’s always worked quite well for me. Did the maple syrup not add enough sweetness? Maybe you could try adding 1/4c brown sugar, if you like your cookies to be sweeter. :)

Wow how disappointing and what a waste of money. I really think you need to take a look at your original recipe and make sure you didn’t miss an ingredient on the list. the tops of the cookie dough wouldn’t brown and they retained the round shape from my cookie scoop and didn’t flatten to a cookie shape at all. Major bummer!

Yikes! Sounds like I need to whip up a batch of these and make sure I recorded the recipe properly. They were excellent when I made them…
