Slow Food Picnic Wrap Up – In Pictures!

The Time for Lunch picnic was fantastical! We hung out with our friends Bonnie, Robert, Shannon and Oz, ate a delicious picnic lunch, and heard some awesome speakers. Bonnie and Oz made the amazing sign pictured above there, and it won second prize! Hurrah!
I took a million pictures (many of them were of folks’ awesome signs)….here are some of my faves:
Here’s the spread I packed. We had hummus and sauteed veggie sandwiches, German potato salad, tiny tomatoes, and candied lemon peel and ginger:

This photo features my second favorite sign from the day:

From the parade. Yes, that man is dressed as a carrot! There was also lettuce and a tomato!

And Atlanta was totally honored to have Slow Foods USA president Josh Viertel speak at our picnic, out of the hundreds going on across the country! Here he is (also note the girl in the awesome strawberry costume behind him):

It was a fantastic afternoon! A great crowd came out, and I left feeling really hopeful about the future of food. Hurrah!
Lunch Bags! The Book!
