Halloween: The Wrap Up
Halloween was fantastical. FANTASTICAL! One of my very closest and oldest friends, Sam, came to town just to celebrate with us! I’ve known Sam since I was 11…almost 20 years! Having her here really made this weekend extra special.
Check out the spread we put together! I could not have assembled it all without Sam. An unplanned mid-day nap set us all a little bit back on getting ready.

On the bottom left there are vampire cupcakes, inspired by this post at Craftster. I used the Golden Vanilla Cupcake recipe from Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World subbing coconut extract for half of the vanilla extract and used (oh for shame) store-bought vanilla frosting.
In the middle are Cheeze Eyeballs. Sam made mini vegan cheezeballs and topped each one with a slice of green olive. I am ashamed to tell you how many of these I ate. Let’s leave it at “too many” and move on.
Behind the cupcakes is a bowl of spooky crackers. Confession: it was just Wheat Thins.
The plate on the back right there holds Mummies in Blankets. We rolled Light Life faux sausage into mummy shapes, wrapped them in strips of crescent roll dough, and baked! Sam carefully placed sesame seeds on each one for eyes. Ta-da! These were a hit and disappeared the fastest.
On the little plate in front I put out the innards from the scooped cupcakes and called them Braaaaainss. Even those got eaten! They went faster when I drizzled them with left over cherry pie filling for “blood.”
In the back you can see some of the little gourds that we set out all over the place, including the popular ghostie that Meghan painted. You can also see the heads in jars a la Dabbled that my friend Jessie made.
The party was a total success! Our photographer pal Bonnie set up an awesome photo booth so folks could show off their costumes….once photo booth pics go up, I’ll post a link to them!

What a great spooky spread! I think I’d attack those cheeze eyeballs too!
Fun!!! I haven’t had a Halloween party in years. I think I’ll do one next year.
