The Honest Scrap Award
My pal Wendy over at My Green Side tagged me with an Honest Scrap Award. If you’re tagged, you’re supposed to share 10 things about yourself that folks who read your blog probably don’t know.
I’m not big on internet surveys, but I really dug reading Wendy’s answers and thought it would be a fun way to get to know you guys a little bit better! You’re supposed to tag seven bloggers at the end, but instead, if you’re reading this post, I tag YOU! You can share your 10 things in the comments or in a separate post on your own site. If you opt to do your own post, I’d love if you sent me a link!
Here are my 10 things:
- I grew up reading science fiction, and it’s still my favorite genre for pleasure reading.
- While I’m a vegan, my husband Dave is a total omnivore. A lot of folks think he’s vegan because he eats vegan more often than not. That’s just because he digs my cooking, though!
- Through most of college I thought I was going to work at a radio station when I grew up. Preferably NPR. Working at our school’s NPR station in Gainesville, FL was one of the best jobs I’ve ever had. WUFT-FM in Gainesville, WJUF-FM in Inverness, FTW!
- I don’t wear makeup, with the exception of lip gloss when it’s cold and dry out.
- Since my surgery over the summer, I hardly drink coffee at all anymore. It just sort of happened by accident during recovery, and I still enjoy coffee. I just don’t need it to live like before.
- Oh, right! I had surgery over the summer. It was nothing serious, but the recovery took a long time because of the way they had to do it. My belly is still a little sensitive where the incision was, but I’m pretty much back to my old self.
- I am a terrible driver. Seriously. It does not help matters that I don’t like driving.
- I’ve got a thing for office supplies, especially Sharpie markers. Can someone please make an eco-friendly version of Sharpies ASAP?
- My cell phone is very old, and I am terrible about keeping up with it. I never seem to hear it ring, and you can forget text messages. I get them days later when they’re totally irrelavent.
- Some Facebook friends actually do know this, but I don’t like going to the movies. If there’s a film that really calls for the big screen and great sound, I’ll brave the theater, but otherwise I’d much rather Netflix it.
There! All my deep, dark secrets in a handy list for teasing and/or blackmail purposes. I hope you’ll take a few minutes to share your own!

Lunch Bags! The Book

Great list Becky! I can relate to #8 especially… I could spend hours looking at office supplies that I don’t need but somehow feel that by purchasing them I’ll find a use for them. In the spirit of reducing, I have started sending my husband for “supplies”. He seems to have a little more self control than I do! Thanks for playing along!
On #9 I can relate – send me a message of any kind and I won’t get it because I’ve never used my password. I don’t like cellphones. For me they are emergency use only – assuming that by some strange coincidence mine would actually be charged when I need it!
I’d better not tell you that Staples has a $1 sale this week…
Wendy – Thanks for tagging me! This was fun. :)
Alison – Aaaaah! Luckily, the Staples is not too convenient to my house!
