LOST Craft Night and Dharma Beer Coozy Tutorial

My friends Ally, Christy, and I are pretttty pumped about the LOST season 6 premiere. So excited, in fact, that we may or may not have spent the better part of Sunday evening making LOST-themed snacks and party favors for Tuesday!

LOST Crafts

We made: pairs of 1″ buttons, Dharma cupcake toppers, fish biscuits, a Hurley shirt, and Dharma beer coozies.

Folks got really excited on Twitter and Facebook when I mentioned the coozies. They were so simple and fun to make, I thought I’d post a little tutorial here!

You’ll need:
One copy of my coozy template, cut out
white fabric
white fleece or felt

A Dharma beer logo
iron on transfer paper
photo editing software
iron

Making the Coozy
Cut out a piece of the white fabric and of the fleece using the template provided. Pin them together, right side in, and stitch around three sides, leaving one short side unfinished.

Turn the coozy right side out, and press, tucking in the unfinished end. Topstitch around the edges of your coozy to close the unfinished end.

Now, lay your coozy on top of the folded template. You’ll want to fold the ends in so that yours is the same width as the template provided. Pin the ends in place and stitch yourself a strong box to hold it closed.

Voila! You now have a blank, white coozy!

Adding the Logo
Use your photo editing software to mirror your image – all the text and whatnot should be backwards. Also resize the image so it’s 2.5″ tall.

Tile as many copies of the logo as you need in a Word document, and you’re ready to print onto the transfer paper! I definitely recommend a test sheet, so you can make sure you’re happy with the logo size before you commit it to transfer paper.

Cut your logos out, iron them on according to the paper’s instructions, and get ready to wow your LOST-loving pals!

LOST Crafts

Ally used this recipe for vegan goldfish crackers for the fish biscuits, then just cut out bigger fish shapes. We wrote DHARMA on there using a butter knife. Since they were so thin, we didn’t even have to alter the baking time.

You guys, I can’t even tell you how excited I am for tonight!! LOST is hands down my favorite show! LOSTTTT!
