Vegan Bake Sale for Haiti: Wrap-Up

Early

This past Saturday, Kristen Anderson organized a vegan bake sale to benefit Doctors Without Borders, and it was stellar!

There was an overwhelming outpouring of support from Atlanta’s vegan community! We had one 6′x4′ table, which was filled to the brim before half of the contributors showed up. Luckily, the amazing folks at Criminal Records let us expand our setup to include the entire back counter! They were also kind enough to let us move the bake sale indoors when the weather report called for low 30′s and rain. Thank you guys!!!

I’ve got to be honest here: I didn’t realize that Atlanta had such a strong vegan community. One woman I spoke with said she’d driven an hour and a half from Paulding county just to hit up the bake sale! Folks were really coming out of the woodwork to show their support, and we raised $1365 for Doctors Without Borders!!!

[That is not sand he is pouring on her head so much as the money we raised!]

I wanted to also take a second to thank all of the awesome folks who helped out either by volunteering or by showing up to buy some delicious vegan treats! THANK YOU. I’m seriously in awe of what we pulled off this weekend.
