It’s the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, and environmental groups around the country are teaming up to host screenings of the No Impact Man documentary. A group of locals here in Atlanta have pulled together to bring a screening here that’s open to the public!

The screening is at the Highland Ballroom tonight at 7PM, and we’re hosting a little potluck dinner at the screening so folks can share some tasty eats, meet and greet, and screen the film! It’s just $5, and all of the proceeds from the event are being donated to the No Impact Project!

Colin Beavan is one of my heroes, and the film tells the story of him and his family trying to live for a year in New York City without using electricity, taking taxis, making garbage, or other environmental impacts. Here’s the film’s trailer, if you’re not familiar with No Impact Man:

Thank you so much to our sponsors – The Indie Craft Experience and Rogue Apron – for helping to make this happen!

If you’re planning to attend, you can RSVP for the event right here!

The closest MARTA station to the venue is Inman Park (910 Austin Avenue Northeast, Atlanta, GA 30307). The Highland Ballroom is also just a few blocks north of the PATH where it intersects Highland Avenue. Here’s a map to the Ballroom:

If biking or taking MARTA aren’t options for you, there is a small parking lot adjacent to the Highland Inn and lots of street parking in the surrounding neighborhood! If you can’t find lot parking, I suggest turning off of Highland and heading west on Blue Ridge, where there’s plenty of space for street parking.

I hope to see you there!
