Linda Miles of Fashion Green T Bags turns thrifted t-shirts into awesome, eco-friendly tote bags!
1. Tell me about how you got started crafting.
I was making bags for personal use and some for family and friends when my daughter told me about Etsy. I began to make bags and sell them on Etsy as a way to raise money for our local food bank.
2. What draws you to eco-friendly materials?
I’ve been concerned about the environment since I was in 7th grade (about 40 years) when our science teacher, Mrs. Truex, taught us to be. I’m always looking for eco-friendly alternatives to daily tasks.
3. What inspires you?
What inspired me most was images of the plastic islands in our oceans and pictures of animals being killed by our plastic waste. I do everything I can now to avoid plastic but it amazes me how difficult it is to do that.
4. Who are your crafty heroes?
Anyone who is an eco-friendly crafter.
