TerraCycle

The lovely Emily who submitted the toothpaste holder project last month contacted me recently with some awesome news: she was on TV! National Geographic produced the mini documentary, Garbage Moguls, all about her employer: Terracycle.

For folks not familiar with Terracycle, they’re an amazing New Jersey-based company who’s mission is to turn trash into usable products. They sell their upcycled products to large retailers like Lowe’s and WalMart. On that scale, we’re talking about a lot of trash diverted from the landfill!

As I’m sure you know by now, my business has a similar mission, so it was pretty awesome to get a peek into a company that’s doing it in such a big way!

To go along with the premier, Terracycle shared some upcycling tutorials:

Garbage Moguls first ran on August 21st, but you can check out video clips from the episode at National Geographic’s website.
