Vegan chefs in the kitchen.

My friend Simon is starting a line of fake meats, and when he invited me to a tasting party to try out some of this vegan goodness, I have to admit that I was pretty excited about it. Possibly, I looked forward to it for the whole week leading up. And maybe I skimped on lunch to make sure I’d be able to try ever.y.thing. twice.

I don’t have a ton of deets about Gutenfleischers fake meats to share yet, but I can tell you that everything at Saturday’s tasting was DELICIOUS. Seriously, check out this menu:

Stuffed Mushrooms
Korean BBQ Meatballs
Chips and Queso
Breakfast Rolls – tempeh and vegan sausage with vegan sour cream rolled up in tortillas
Sandwich Tray – three kinds of lunch meat with trimmings
Mini Tacos
Buffalo Wings
Mini Steaks with Mashed Potatoes and Garlic Green Beans
Vegan Peanut Butter Cupcakes (from Dough Bakery) topped with Tempeh Bacon (no, seriously)

As you can imagine, I was in sort of a food coma after all of that. Worth it! They’re doing weekly meal orders now and have even bigger plans in the works! If you want to get in the know, you can sign up for the Gutenfleischers email list.
