Remember those super cute clothespin plant markers from last week? Well, I finally got around to making a batch of my own!

DIY Plant Marker

These were easy as pie to make! Just use a permanent marker to write the plant names on your clothespins, stick a skewer or stick into the pot, then clip the clothespin on. Viola!

I wish I’d had a fine point Sharpie like the original poster did, but I wanted to make do with what I had. Instead of storebought bamboo skewers, I collected some nice-sized sticks from our yard to mount my markers. I think the sticks give it an earthier feel, which goes really well in my DIY garden. Plus, sticks are free!

It will be interesting to see how these hold up to weather. I suspect that the ink on these DIY plant markers is going to fade over time, but they look really cute right now!!

Have you guys made any plant markers of your own? I’d love to hear how you went about it!
