You know that I’m all about buying handmade around here. When you choose handmade products over mass-produced ones, you’re not only getting something cute and unique. You’re supporting an independent designer who’s living her dream, and you’re often doing something good for the planet to boot. No to shabby, right?
Of course, handmade artisans aren’t the only folks out there making their way by doing what they love, and vintage sellers deserve to shine, too! What I love about shopping with good vintage retailers is that they do the legwork for you. Sure, I love digging through the racks at Goodwill and Value Village looking for those hidden gems, but sometimes you just want a pretty spring dress or a sweet cardigan without spending hours to find it.
Vintage sellers are passionate and knowledgeable about their finds, and I love being able to talk to someone who not only has an eye for great clothing and home decor but knows all about the pieces, their time periods, and what makes them special.
If you’ve got a passion for vintage like I do, you’ll be super thrilled that the amazing ladies behind the Indie Craft Experience are launching their very first vintage show, coming in April!
Apply to Salvage
If you’re a vintage collector or a handmade artisan that focuses on a vintage aesthetic, there’s still time to apply to Salvage! They’re accepting applications until March 14th, so hurry up and apply, if you haven’t already!
More into shopping than selling? Salvage is on April 14th from 11am to 6pm at Ambient Plus Photo Studio on Atlanta’s west side.
Come check out vintage sellers from all over and indie crafters who focus on vintage components or a vintage look. The event features clothing, decor, home goods, furniture, books and more! I hope you guys can make it out to the very first Salvage to do some vintage shopping…I’m definitely going to be heading down!
Like all of the Indie Craft Experience shows, they’ll be giving out printed tote bags to the first 100 attendees. Atlanta designer Joy Phrasavath designed the bags for Salvage. There’s also going to be another awesome photo booth from Leah and Mark, music by DJ Zano, and eats from The Good Food Truck and King of Pops! I mean, really. How could you miss it??
Upcycled Mason Jar Competition
Not only will there be vintage goodies for sale, but the ICE ladies are hosting a vintage Mason jar competition, where crafters can submit their very best upcycled mason jar projects. A panel of celebrity judges is going to choose the winner! You can get more deets about the Upcycled Mason Jar Competition over on the Salvage website.
