Buy Handmade: Spring Cleaning
So, are you planning to whip up some cleaning supplies and do some spring cleaning this weekend? There’s one other aspect to cleaning that’s not so eco-friendly: all of the waste. From paper towels to those disposable Swiffer covers, there’s a lot of waste associated with cleaning. Luckily, these awesome Etsians have reusable alternatives to those single use spring cleaning supplies. Yay!
Let’s face it: cleaning the floor with a Swiffer is way easier than with a mop. When I mop, I always feel like I’m just pushing dirt around. The trouble with the Swiffer is that those pads are a one-time-use situation. They’re expensive and wasteful, and there’s no need to use them! Generation Me makes super cute reusable Swiffer covers. Just toss them in the wash when the floors are done!
Does cleaning leave you with a mountain of paper towels? Waste no more! Man in the Moon Herbs makes a super awesome starter pack of Unpaper Towels. They even come with a handy mesh storage back to store them in, so you’ll always have your reusable rags handy!
Sponges can be kind of gross, right? But sometimes you need that scrubby power. Instead of using and tossing sponge after sponge, you can replace those disposables with a reusable crochet kitchen scrubbie from Crocheted Gifts. Unlike store bought sponges, you can toss these in the laundry and use them again and again.
