Can you tell that I’m obsessed with succulents yet? They’re such a simple way to add a little green to your space, they require very little maintenance, and they can live with indirect light, which makes them great house plants!
This tin can succulent planter was super easy to make, and I included more detailed directions at the bottom, in case you need them.
Materials
- empty can
- drill with 1/4″ metal drill bit
- rocks or pebbles
- small gravel
- potting soil
- succulent plant
Directions
1. Find a can and a succulent. If your can is not as pretty as this one, decorate it and let it dry before you start.
2. Drill drainage holes in the bottom of your can. I drilled 5 in mine.
3. Fill the can about 1/4 of the way with pebbles.
4. Make a succulent-friendly potting mix by combining 1 part gravel with 2 parts potting soil.
5. Fill your can with the mix and plant your succulent.
