Fireworks for the 4th of July

Happy 4th, you guys!

For a lot of folks, the Fourth of July probably means grilling, and that also means lots and lots of meat, but it doesn’t have to be that way. There are plenty of super delicious grilled foods and side dishes that don’t have an animal product in sight.

The trouble, I think, is that when you’re used to meat being the star of the meal, it’s hard to know how to create a vegan menu, but don’t despair! Check out this crowd-pleasing vegan 4th of July menu. You can make all of these or choose a few of your faves – think of it as a jumping-off point for planning your ultimate, cruelty-free vegan cookout.

  • Bulgur and Bean Burgers
  • Sweet and Sour Potato Salad
  • Veggie Pouches – chop up broccoli, asparagus, or your favorite sturdy veggie, toss with olive oil, wrap in foil, and grill for about 12-15 minutes on high.
  • Veggie Kebabs – try mushrooms, pineapple, sweet potato, and onion. YUM!
  • Grilled Corn

What’s your favorite vegan dish to cook up for a cookout?
