We had quite the heat wave here in Atlanta not too long ago, so it was pretty much perfect timing that the folks at Onyx sent me their stainless steel ice pop molds to try out!
Popsicle molds tend to be made from plastic, so I was super excited to try out molds made from stainless steel instead! They’re easy to use, easy to clean, and I can’t wait to make another batch of pops with them. You can check out the Onyx Ice Pop Molds here.
There is one thing I should say about these molds. I can totally 100% understand why they are the shape that they are. The shape makes it easy to pop the pop out of the mold when it’s done. The thing is, when you turn your delicious ice pop right-side-up to eat it…wellllll…..let’s just say it might make any teens in your household giggle.
OK, now that you’ve got your inner 13-year-old under control, let’s make some pops!
Coconut Chai Popsicles
- 1 2/3 cups water
- 2 bags of chai tea
- 1/3 cups coconut milk
- Sugar, to taste (optional) – I used 1 tablespoon of brown sugar
1. Boil your water water and add the sugar if you’re using it. Steep the tea for 20 minutes, and let it cool completely.
2. Stir in the coconut milk, mixing well.
3. Pour your mixture into the molds, leaving about 1/8″ of headroom at the top, so it can expand. Freeze for a couple of hours, then serve! If you have a little trouble getting your mold to release the pop, try running a little bit of cold water over the mold. That should loosen things up!
With summer heating up around here, I’m definitely planning to make more popsicles! I’d love to use some herbs from my garden and was thinking that something like pineapple and basil would be yummy to try out next. My pal Karen also posted some awesome popsicle recipes that I want to try out! What’s your favorite popsicle recipe?
