It’s Black Friday, you guys! For a lot of folks, that means hitting the stores early for a deal on electronics, toys, or other holiday gifts. One of my favorite parts of buying handmade for the holidays is that you get to opt out of today’s craziness. Sleep in! Have a leisurely breakfast! Maybe do a little bit of crafting or browsing on Etsy. Life is good.
In the past few years I’ve discovered that food gifts go over extremely well with my friends and family. Everyone loves a treat, and fancy food or comfort food gifts both work nicely. The bonus of gifting someone food? There’s nothing to store or to gather dust! They eventually use up those delicious spices or that cookie mix, and that’s that. Most of the folks I know have plenty of stuff, so functional gifts like food are ideal.
If you want to make your own foodie gifts, check out this vegan cookie mix or this recipe for making infused oils and vinegars, but you don’t have to make gifts to have a handmade holiday! Check out these awesome food gifts.
Cooking Indian food isn’t terribly difficult, but finding the more exotic spices can be. If you have someone on your list that likes to eat Indian, check out this awesome Indian spices kit from Craig’s Market. They come in cute little metal containers that your giftee can reuse for storing other spices as these run out!
Vegan Cocoa Mix
Who doesn’t love chocolate, right? Cocoa mix is such a classic food gift, and I am drooling over this organic dark chocolate cocoa mix by The Hedgerow. Not only is the mix totally vegan, it’s soy- and GMO-free! Yay!
I know, granola might seem a little too hippie dippy and healthy, but The Healthy Nut really takes this crunchy treat to the next level! Check out her vegan granola gift jar set! It comes with four flavors of granola, each in a cute quart-sized Mason jar. I want to try that gingersnap cookie flavor right now!
