I try to keep things pretty upbeat around here, and tomorrow I promise that we’ll be back to our regularly scheduled crafts and recipes, but this was a really tough weekend, and just jumping right back into vegan eats and green crafts today felt…just not right.
We lost an amazing person over the weekend. I don’t want to share too many of the details, but my friend Rob passed away. It was sudden, shocking, and I’m still reeling from the news.
I feel so lucky that I got to know Rob. He was a rare guy – shy at first, and once you got to know him he was kind, funny, and so much fun. You never felt judged around Rob, and you never felt like he was trying to put out any kind of image. He was just…Rob…and I think that’s what I loved most about him.
He was an avid cyclist, a great photographer, and one of the kindest people I know. He also had great taste in beer and knew how to rock it at the state fair.
He and his partner, Leuwam, moved to San Fancisco years ago, and I wish I’d gotten it together to visit them more. I missed them like crazy when they moved, and now that he’s gone I regret not staying in touch as well as I could have.
I miss you, Rob.

I knew Leuwam back in the day in Atlanta but didn’t know Rob very well. I’m heartbroken for her & everyone who loves them.
