Snack Healthy: Avocado Crackers

Honestly, I can’t believe I didn’t think of this healthy snack a long, long time ago – it’s made of my favorite things!

One of the things I’m learning about motherhood is that it’s kind of hard to feed yourself! My baby loves kitchen sounds, so cooking is no problem, but the actual sitting and eating often has to be a one-handed situation, while I balance a sweet babe on my other arm. Finger foods are the key to feeding myself during the day when I’m taking care of DH on my own.

You might not think that avocado is healthy, because it’s high in fat, but it’s actually a superfood! The fat in avocado is good-for-you monounsaturated fat. Avocado is packed with vitamin E and micronutrients that are great for your skin, and that healthy fat helps prevent heart disease.

I’m sure you can figure this recipe out from the photo, but just for posterity, here’s the recipe!

Avocado Crackers

Prep time: 5 minutes; Yield: 4 servings

Nutritional Information (using Kashi Heart to Heart crackers): 154 calories; 20g carbs; 8g fat, 3g protein; 164mg sodium; 1g sugar


  • 1 Haas avocado, sliced into 20 chunks
  • 20 whole grain crackers – whatever kind is your favorite!
  • Sriracha sauce, to taste


  • Put one piece of avocado onto each cracker, drizzle with Sriracha, and snack away!

  5. I saw the red Sriracha dots in the picture on my feedly and knew I would like whatever it was that you posted. And yup, two of my favorite things: sriracha and avocados. Yum!

    • It was so quick to make, too. I just stocked up on avocados so I can eat this for snacks all next week!
