Happy fifth of May!! If you’re throwing a shindig together today, this last-minute Cinco de Mayo recipe is the perfect way to round out your spread.
I originally shared this “recipe” over at Eat Drink Better after my friend Ashley shared her own recipe for instaguac a couple of weeks ago. She reminded me of this awesome technique that I’d used in moments of party-planning desperation a few times before. You should definitely check hers out – she uses fancy pants salsa that looks delicious!
Oops! Did I say salsa? Spoilers!
Store bought salsa is the key to this Cinco de Mayo recipe. Think about making guac from scratch, right? What do you add? Maybe some onion? Cilantro? Jalapeno? Tomato? That’s basically salsa.
You can use red or green salsa to make this recipe. Salsa fresca will also work really well. Since the guac is getting its oomph from the salsa, though, I definitely suggest choosing one that you like eating on its own.
I kind of feel bad calling this a recipe, because it takes 30 seconds to make, but if you’re throwing a Cinco de Mayo shindig together maybe you don’t want to figure this one out on the fly.
