Cats

This morning, Dave said we could do whatever I wanted today. Obviously, what I wanted was to hit up Value Village! In the same plaza as the Moreland Value Village, there is this awesome shop that sells vintage and antique doodads, cast off hotel furniture and other random pieces. I made Dave pull out his iPhone and take a picture of this gem. Memories!

I actually used to go to Backstreet quite a bit when I first moved here. Charlie Brown’s Cabaret was a drag show that went on in one room of this massive, 24-hour nightclub. I liked to go to the Cabaret when I needed a break from the dancefloor, which could get a bit overwhelming when the place was crowded.

Value Village was a huge success! I picked up a ton of pillowcases for Lunch Kits, a completely amazing dress that is just for me, a few skirts that are screaming for a little love, some lovely mugs and plates and 3 sweet little tin pots! The two round ones now have scallions and lettuce in them. The best find of the day, though, was this awesome, rectangular clawed pot that I used to plant some wheatgrass.

Wheat Grass

I know it’s sitting on the kitchen table here, but it’s now living on the front porch. Molly was WAY too interested in the stuff. She had started tearing it up just moments after I left the room! Folks warned me that cats love wheatgrass, but dang! She was rubbing her face on the stuff pretty much immediately! I may pick up another tray of the stuff and pot it on the floor for her.

For the past month or so, work folks have been referring to this week as Hell Week as it’s been approaching. Suffice to say they were not kidding or exaggerating. It might be quiet over here for a bit, and I haven’t had the energy to sew in the evenings or anything. I miss my life/friends/sanity and promise to pull it together soooon! In the meantime, here is a cute picture of Agnes asleep in our bed:

It’s back! In my home! And I used it this morning to finish up 2 Lunch Kits! Hurrah!

I should be sewing right this second, but a certain cat is making herself heavy on my lap, and it’s so hard to tell miss Molly no sometimes.

I was on a hunt for stache pics in Dave’s Flickr account and came across this amazing picture of Agnes, our halfcat. My pal Vito dubbed her the halfcat, because her weight tends to be exactly half of Molly, our other cat’s. Agnes (or Agnef or Ags) was an alleycat that had kittens before she was even a year old. We adopted her at a year, and she remains as teensy as a kitten. She also has some breathing issues, which are common with cats that have a backstory like hers. A vet once told us that they call cats like Ags “snufflers.” How cute is that!

Her snuffling volume goes up and down, depending on the weather and how she’s feeling. Sometimes, it’s a mild rumble while other times it’s more of a freight train. She’s a little shy, though much less skittish than when we got her. It’s been really amazing to watch her go from constant hiding/running away to the playful, happy, curious kitcat she is now.

Anyways!

This picture of her is hilarious, and I couldn’t just pass it by. She’s such a little cupcake.
