Mustaches

I'm a Liar

Inman Park was totally fun, despite some pretty wretched weather overnight on Saturday and early in the day on Sunday. Luckily, our tent rocks at keeping our stuff dry!

The parade was amazing as usual. I’m always moved by all of the different antiwar folks and by the crazy cool environmental stuff. Probably my favorite thing that falls under the latter was this solar car!

We had a great time hanging out at the booth. We totally lucked out and were placed right next door to Christy and Shannon! I sort of wonder if we asked to be their neighbors when we applied! Christy and her husband might be the cutest mustachioed couple in town (please don’t judge if you happen to see this picture again in an upcoming Mustache Wednesday!
Mustache Love

Late this afternoon, Shannon enticed me to go on a walk by mentioning that The Dulce Vegan was set up at the fest! I had no idea! They were almost completely out of goodies when I got there, but I did manage to snag a pineapple cardamom muffin. It was SO GOOD.

A huge thanks to all the fine folks who came out to see us! We had a great time and hope you did, too!

Newspaper Bag Style 3

Liz, Lori and I got together last night to churn out shopping bags for the upcoming Inman Park Festival. After sort of staring at our box of newspaper for a while, we came to some conclusions. The main thing we realized was that folks were more likely to hang on to and continue to use shopping bags if they were made of fabric instead of paper. So! We scrapped the paper idea for now. Instead, we made superquickie cloth bags! Lori posted an awesome tutorial over at SuperCute! on how it all went down.

Then, this morning we got really excited about fleshing out some stuff on the SuperCute! site. We put together a few pages explaining things like What’s With the Mustaches? and talking about our Mission: Possible! project. I’m pretty much overjoyed with how this stuff is going!!

I couldn’t resist posting about this awesome STACHEonery from Rhymes with Twee, one of my very favorite Etsy crafters! It’s basically the coolest! Leigh uses cut up lined paper, like the sort that you had in grade school, and screen prints her own mustache designs right on them. Simple! Adorable! Genius!

I posted a glass etching tutorial over at SuperCute!! We had such a great time this go round, we’re planning to do even more!

I am SO happy with how they came out!!!!!!

Tonight, the SuperCute! gals came by for a a night of stache-crafting! Our pal Ally was in the neighborhood, so she came by to play, too! We etched some thrifted glasses with mustaches and made mustache pins! I’m hoping to get a good picture of one of the finished glasses in the morning. Here is an in-progress shot:

I’ve never had a themed craft night before, but it was pretty much awesome. The awesomeness was due in no small part to the mustaches! We had a great time! I can’t wait for a chance to bust out those mustache glasses!! I’ll make sure to post a pic of a finished one when I get it! It was too dark out by the time we finished to take one today.

We’re also planning to post a tutorial on SuperCute! about glass etching. It was really fun, and so easy to do!
