East Atlanta Strut!Hurrah!

SuperCute! will be setting up at the East Atlanta Village Strut on September 20th! I’ll post again closer to the date, but I’m really excited about this show! The Strut is a great neighborhood festival. They always have a wonderful mix of vendors, and the show is in the heart of the Village, which means good food and coffee options are right there, too! See you there!

KRAFTWORK

I can’t even really tell you how excited I was to hear that KRAFTWORK, the monthly craft show, is coming back at Youngblood Gallery!!! There are a few little differences with KRAFTWORK 2.0. You can read all about it over on the Indie Craft Experience blog. Yea! Youngblood and ICE are teaming up to pull off a super-awesome, new and improved Kraftwork! They’re accepting applications now for the very first one in the new space. The show is on September 4th!

Craft: 08 Release Party!

See you thereeeeeee!

New Hugbot

The Indie Craft Experience is in less than 2 weeks, and I’m totally stoked! I haven’t updated the shop in a bit, since I’m trying to ramp up for the show. This little Hugbot, along with bunches of other stuff, are just for ICE!

We got our booth assignments not too long ago, toooo! SuperCute! is #22. You can check out a map here.

Oooh and! In other super-exciting news, the folks from Cosmo’s Vegan Shoppe, a local place that stocks my Lunch Kits, are hitting up the Animal Rights Conference this August in DC. They’re taking a bunch of Lunch Kits up with them! Woo! How awesome is that??

In more bummery news, my sewing machine is not so much fixed as still broken. At least it’s broken in a different way? I ended up buying a “backup” machine sooner than I planned to. It’s heading back to the shop tomorry, where they promise to get it working for real and for not additional charge. We’ll see!

Hugbot Skirt

I’m a liiiitle obsessed with making these guys. There might be a few Hugbot skirts by the time ICE gets here. Speaking of ICE! They are looking for volunteers for everything from swag stuffing to checking folks in to working at the t-shirt tent. Christy and Shannon work so hard to pull together an amazing event, I just know you want to help them make it even better by pitching in! If you do, you can reach them through the Contact page on their site. They will love you forever. And that’s a promise!

Also speaking of ICE, I have some exciting SuperCute! news! We’re throwing the preparty at Youngblood Gallery! An Evite will be going out soon. There are going to be snacks and beer and a visit from Faythe Levine to show off the trailer for the Handmade Nation, the indie craft documentary. We are totally thrilled to be a part of such an awesome event!

Oooh also, I realized I promised a pic of the completed Pi Lunch Kit and didn’t deliver. So here ya go!

Roboto Skirt

I’ve had this skirt for a bit and couldn’t really figure out how to finish it. Lori, because she is a genius, suggested last weekend that I sew a Hugbot on there! Of course! So here he is! The little Hugbot is made from Kunin recycled felt. They turn old soda bottles into some of the most amazing felt I’ve ever used. The texture is different from craft felt I’ve bought before…it’s softer and less stiff. I love it! I’m in love with the apple green in particular, which is what I used on this little skirt. More is on its way to me as we speak!

I don’t think there will be time to list this fella before Kirkwood tomorry, but I’ll put him up in the shop after the show if he’s still around.

The Saved By the Bell: College Years where they throw a rave is on. Screech wants to be cool, so he’s helping someone at the party get a tank of nitrous. Here is the exchange I just heard:

“Screech, listen: The guy with the gas gets all the girlsssss.”
“Oh, really? That’s never worked for me before!”

I think we’ve all learned a valuable lesson here.

Athens Indie Craftstravaganzaa

SuperCute! will be setting up this very Saturday at the Athens Indie Crafstravaganzaa! It sounds like it’s going to be really fun. The site promises “a fun filled day of music, good food, friendly faces and lots of handmade goodies to browse.” Whee! That sounds pretty much perfect! Check out their site for directions and details!

Flag Army

You guys might remember me mentioning the meetings of The Betsy Ross Society, where we sewed these crazy flags to help Cooper Sanchez promote his upcoming show. Well! That show is this weekend!! Flagship Mark opens on Friday at Funtion Gallery at 7pm. The space is only .4 miles from the Decatur MARTA station in downtown Decatur! You can find a map here.

See you there?
