Last night, Dave and I spent a few hours carving the pumpkin and hanging decorations! OK, actually, I drew on the pumpkin and Dave carved it while I hung decorations. We try to keep me and sharp knives away from each other, if possible, because I am what you might call “accident prone.”

The plan this year was to have all handmade decorations along with a ton of gourds great and small, and things are coming along so well! I think my favorite decoration so far was also the simplest. Behold: BAT LAMP:
