I am super honored to be one of the artists in the curated art show that they’re hosting as part of their opening festivities. Yay!! I have been crafting my fingers off getting some collages and other fun pieces together for the show, and I can’t wait to see my stuff hanging on the walls in my favorite local bakery.

Here’s a sneak peek at some of the pieces I’ve been working on for the show:

Shannon Mulkey of the Indie Craft Experience is curating the show, and my friend Bonnie Heath is going to have photos up at the opening, too! I can’t wait to see what other local artists are taking part. The time is still TBD, but I’ll update as soon as I know for sure!

The Dulce Vegan is right in downtown Kirkwood at 1994 Hosea L. Williams Drive.

The Dulce Vegan had their soft opening, and I finally got a chance to swing by there for some baked goodness and a cup of coffee!

The Dulce Vegan had their soft opening, and I finally got a chance to swing by there for some baked goodness and a cup of coffee!

They have a limited menu right now, as they ramp up for their grand opening, but what’s there is super delicious. I opted for a cinnamon roll that was approximately the size of my head and a French press coffee. My friend Adrienne went with a slice of lemon cake and an espresso.

Holy moly! When I was just able to get their delicious goodies at festivals, I mostly stuck to my tried and true fave: the chocolate lavender scone. It was so decadent to branch out, and this cinnamon roll made me glad I did. It was perfectly cinnamony, not too sweet, and I love that they put just a small amount of raisins into the rolls. It took me two sittings to eat the whole thing, so it was a great deal, too!

They’ve also got a lovely tea selection which I definitely want to try next time I’m there along with a sandwich menu.

The space looks great, and I can’t wait until they announce their grand opening! Any day now, I bet!

I’d heard a rumor that Gathering Grounds in Kirkwood was going to reopen as a vegan coffee shop, but what I just learned last week (thanks, Liz!) is that it’s not just any vegan coffee shop, it’s THE DULCE VEGAN!

Side note: I have been working hard to curb the number of exclamation points I use when I’m writing blog posts, but in this case that is going out the window!

I am a super humongous fan of The Dulce Vegan and have been anxiously awaiting their new shop since Idalys mentioned it to me a few years ago. It sounds like they’ve been through some permitting issues according to What Now Atlanta, but they’re finally ready to move forward!

The Dulce Vegan is tentatively opening their vegan coffee shop the third week of this very month! I can’t wait to get a chocolate lavender scone and a latte!
