Over at Ecolocalizer, Rhonda and I are working on a fun project! We’ve realized that our neighborhoods have a lot in common. She lives in the Bayview area of San Francisco and I’m over in Edgewood, just east of downtown Atlanta. We’re exploring the ups and downs of trying to live sustainably in our respective areas and hoping to learn from each other at the same time.

You can watch the whole documentary for free on Hulu! It’s definitely worth a watch, whether you worry about this issue or not!

I had such a great time doing that roundup last Friday, I thought I’d do another one! Here are a few things from me and a few things that are totally rad that I ran across this week:

From Me:

Let’s do some green spring cleaning! Here’s a method for tackling the fridge

There’s still time to take the Earth Hour 2 Earth Day Challenge!

This isn’t just from me, but SuperCute! did another guest post over at Indie Fixx.

From Elsewhere:

Does anyone know where this amazing kitty bento is from? A friend sent me the image in an email, and I would love to track down the blogger who’s packing kitty bentos!

This Monstrous Mushroom Stitch over at Toycutter rocks my socks. Check it:

Jackie did a fantastical roundup of vintage suitcase mods on Crafting a Green World!

And in a double-whammy if awesomeness, my pals over at The Indie Craft Experience were featured in USA Today and in Daily Candya this week!

This weekend, I’m planning to seriously hole up with my sewing machine. There are custom orders to finish and craft shows to get ready for!

My pal Christy and I were talking about apartment composting solutions not too long ago, and it got me thinking! For a lot of folks, starting a bin feels daunting. I was totally intimidated by the idea before we set up our own back yard bin.

A little research turned up a few easy ways to get composting whether you live in a house with a yard or a teensy apartment! I even found an awesome video on starting your own vermicomposting setup that makes me sort of want to start my very own! Read more about easy composting options over at Ecolocalizer!

With all the good rain in the past week or so, our barrels are all ready to see us through if there’s a bit of a dry spell!

It’s finished! Months and months ago, I ordered a Munny from Kid Robot. Since then, it’s been sitting in the den, taunting me with its blankness. I finally got an idea a couple of weeks ago: turn the Munny into a tree! Lots of cutting, paint, moss, cupcake toppers and glue later, he’s done! Hurrah!

It just so happens that my idea hit at just the right time! There is going to be a Munny show at MINT gallery on September 22nd! Hurrah! They said I wasn’t too late to enter, so you can meet my Munny in person there! That is the same day as the East Atlanta Strut, but I’m planning to drag my exhausted self over to MINT to check it out, too!

In other news, I wrote a little post over on Ecolocalizer on planting a fall garden. The container garden out front sort of has me plant-crazy! Lori hooked me up with a cabbage plant, and I’m trying to get some basil to sprout roots. I think I need more pots!
