My friend Tobi and I were chatting on Facebook not too long ago about yoga. We’re both trying to get back into a regular practice and it’s just so much easier to do something like that with a little support.

My friend Tobi and I were chatting on Facebook not too long ago about yoga. We’re both trying to get back into a regular practice and it’s just so much easier to do something like that with a little support.

Since we’re in different towns, we decided to give each other encouragement via Facebook. I tweeted about my morning yoga, and a few other folks seemed to have a similar goal: getting back into practicing on a regular basis.

I thought it might be fun if we set up a space where we can all share tips, troubles, favorite poses, and support, so Tobi and I started up a Facebook group just for that! It’s called Virtual Yoga Buddies.

If you’re interested in joining our little community, it’s open to anyone at all! I’m really excited to see where this goes!

This week, let’s keep it local. Craft shows would be sad and lonely without these fantastic ladies!

Here are some pictures of the fantastical things they make and a bit about each of them (in no particular order)!

Shannon, Liz, Jess, Christy, Lori, Amy

  1. Shannon Mulkey. Owner of Patina and half of the amazing Indie Craft Experience.
  2. Liz Stricklen. One of my very best friends, Liz makes lovely jewelry under the name Lizerati, and she’s 1/3 of SuperCute! a certain crafty collective that I happen to be a part of!
  3. Jess Gonacha. Jess is an illustrator, pattern designer, and all around amazing lady! Check out her side project Pecannoot.
  4. Christy Petterson. Christy is a superwoman. She crafts, writes, and is the other half of the Indie Craft Experience.
  5. Lori VanVoorhis. Lorigami is the third member of SuperCute! and a fantastical ecofriendly crafter and cat rescuer!
  6. Amy Taylor. The lady behind the Ministry of Tiny Hats, Amy is spreading cuteness one teensy chapeau at a time.

So do you guys have a crafty support system? I don’t know what I’d do without these ladies around. Glue and Glitter would certainly never have evolved into what it is without them!

Yesterday, a bunch of folks headed up to Burt’s Farm to check out the fall goodness! I’d never been up to the farm before, and it was pretty much fantastical. There were crazy pumpkins as far as the eye could see! The one I got was called an “Old Timey” pumpkin. You can see a bunch of them pictured above I loved its pale color and bubbly shape! The one I took home had a lovely, curved stem, too! Check out our whole haul:

This weekend so far has been super-hectic and wonderful. I completely forgot to take a single picture!

Yesterday morning, SuperCute! set up at the East Atlanta Strut. It was a wonderful day with wonderful people! We had perfect weather, a prime spot to watch the parade and got to gab with lots [...]]]>

This weekend so far has been super-hectic and wonderful. I completely forgot to take a single picture!

Yesterday morning, SuperCute! set up at the East Atlanta Strut. It was a wonderful day with wonderful people! We had perfect weather, a prime spot to watch the parade and got to gab with lots of old pals! Thanks to all the fine folks who made it out to say hi.

At the show Liz, Lori and I got to gabbing about my merch. They gave some really great advice, and I made some decisions. First of all, I’m bringing back the stainless steel lunchboxes. I really think they make the kits feel like…well…kits. Also, I’m going to pick up some frames for my collages. They’re still going to be listed unframed on Etsy, but I want them ready to hang when we do shows. Those ladies are so smart!

After the Strut, Dave helped us load up and whisked me home to get ready for the Munny show at MINT. He surprised me with roses, a bottle of wine and two packs of my favorite gum! How sweet is that?? Some leftover Chinese, a shower and a nice glass of wine later, we were on the way to see the show. It was kind of surreal. This was probably due in part to a long day in the sun, but I don’t think that’s all of it. Somehow, it felt different than at the Strut. Maybe I’m used to the mellow craft show vibe? Who knows! It was really fun – so fun that we stayed out far later than we meant to. We didn’t get home until around 11!

Today is a birthday brunch for Meghan, one of my very favorite
