IF: The Indie Craft Experience! Again!

I am super excited about the Indie Craft Experience show that’s coming up this weekend, and I can’t stop looking through their beautiful vendor gallery and poring over the talented artists who are going to be there.

Last week, I rounded up a few of the awesome ICE vendors who will be at the show, and I thought it would be fun to share some more amazing vendors with you guys, since the show is tomorrow and Sunday!

Touring the Indie Craft Experience

The Indie Craft Experience summer show is this very weekend, and I’m so excited!! ICE is by far my favorite Atlanta show, and Christy and Shannon do an amazing job combining talented crafters, stellar music, and great food to create a really magical shopping experience.

They recently released a video tour from the winter ICE, and I think it’s a great peek at what an ICE show is all about. Fun fact! The handsome fella in the blue shirt that walks past the doorway around 9 seconds into the video is my husband, Dave. Check it:

The summer Indie Craft Experience is this very weekend, June 11-12 at Ambient+ Studio here in Atlanta. The show runs 11am-6pm both days. I hope to see you locals out there!

IF: Summer Indie Craft Experience

The Summer Indie Craft Experience (ICE) is only a week away, and I’m already getting excited about checking out my fellow vendors’ booths. I’ve been sewing like crazy to restock Cupcaprons, Lunch Kits, Snack Sleeves and Cup Gloves for the show, and all of that marathon crafting can be a little bit exhausting. When I start to get a little weary it really helps me to peruse other folks’ crafts to give me an energy boost to keep on sewing.

There are some really amazing crafters participating in the summer ICE, and what’s more inspirational than checking out beautiful handmade goodies, right? For your daydreaming and shopping pleasure:

Fancy seasoned salts from beautiful briny sea
The ever-fabulous Missy Kulik and Raoul de la Cruz
Delicious, all natural scented soaps from Mama
Beautiful ceramics from Jeanette Zeis

I have lots of sewing left to do to get my own booth together, and I can’t wait for next weekend! ICE is my favorite Atlanta show, hands down, and I always leave there feeling inspired and wanting to make, make, make!

Indie Craft Experience: This Weekend!

You guys, it’s here! My favorite craft show in all of Atlanta is this very weekend, and this year it’s a two day affair! DJ Zano is spinning tunes, local food trucks are lining up outside, and vendors are setting up their lovely wares all for you! The show is at Ambient Plus Photo Studio once again this year. I hope you can make it out for some handmade holiday shopping!

I’ve been a busy bee getting things sewn and tagged, and I think I might be getting a little loopy, too, because I just changed the care instructions on my Cupcaprons to haiku form. That’s probably a sign that I need to put down the pen and work on something else, right?

A Cupcapron care haiku:
machine wash on cold.
tumble your apron on low
or hang it to dry

Indie Craft Experience Wrap Up

The Indie Craft Experience was amazing as always! Since my camera is a mess, I’ve got no photos of my own (the picture at the top there is totally ganked from the ICE Flickr account ). Luckily, a few other folks were all over it!

Did you take photos at the event? I’d love to see! I didn’t get to walk around too much, so it’s been really fun to go through all of these pics online.

I got to do a little bit of shopping, including picking up part of Dave’s Christmas gift (sorry, this one’s a secret until the 25th!), an owl coin purse from So She Sews, and a cupcake from the Dulce Vegan.

Thanks so much to all of the lovely folks who stopped by! It was nice to put faces with names and see some old friends, too!

Hey Atlanta peeps! If you’re going to be around this weekend, I hope you can stop by the Indie Craft Experience! The handmade market is Saturday from 11am-6pm at Ambient Plus Studio and is going to be chock full of totally awesome holiday shopping, food, drinks, and music!

ICE this year is going to be better than ever! Not only will there be amazing crafters and tunes from DJ Zano, my friend Mark is setting up a photo booth! Who doesn’t love a photo booth?

Friday Roundup: Indie Craft Experience

The winter Indie Craft Experience is just over a week away! I thought it would be fun this week to take a look at some of the awesome vendors who will be at the show!

If you’re in the Atlanta area, ICE is looking for volunteers to help stuff swag on Thursday the 19th and on the day of the event (the 21st)! If you’re looking to get involved, you can hit them up at craft@ice-atlanta.com. Volunteering is a really fun way to get involved and meet some awesome local crafty peeps! If you’re stuffing swag bags, I’ll see you at Young Blood Gallery at 7pm on Thursday the 19th!

Big News, November Craft Shows, and Some Pondering

It’s been a crazy time around here! I put in notice at my day job on Friday and am taking this crafting/freelancing situation to the next level. It’s all exciting and terrifying and I’m looking forward to devoting all of my energy into things I’m really passionate about. My official last day is during Thanksgiving week.

In the meantime, I’m getting ready for Kraftwork this Thursday, Chomp and Stomp on Saturday, and The Indie Craft Experience on November 21st. Whew! It’s left me with not so much in the spare time department, since I’ll still be at the ol’ dayjob for at least 2 more weeks, if not 3 or 4. We should be sorting that out this week.

In the pondering department, I’m still digesting this post from Alex over at World Changing. On the one hand, I can see hit point: we need change, big change, and we need it now. But on the other hand, I worry that this sort of all or nothing attitude is going to ultimately overwhelm a lot of folks and maybe turn people off that were timidly dipping their toes into this whole sustainable living thing.

Like I said, I’m still thinking it through. What do you guys think about it?

OMG, you guys, the Indie Craft Experience is tomorrow and Sunday at Centennial Olympic Park! Can you believe it?? I have been sewing as much as I can manage and can’t wait to load in and see all the awesome vendors!
