Yesterday was the last LOST, and we had folks over starting at 6:30 for a potluck and drinks while we watched the 2 hour recap episode and the 2.5 hour finale. It was a lot of TV. The recap was sort of….lackluster. I thought the fan letters were really cheesy, and the cast interviews didn’t really add much value. We mostly gabbed and ate during that part.

A few folks were disappointed in the episode, too, but I really dug it! My only wish is that they’d worked in something about Aaron or the whole fertility thing. That felt like quite a big thread to leave hanging. The episode was great, though – funny and sentimental. It was everything I love about LOST, and I can’t wait to rewatch it! What did you guys think?

I really wanted to make a themed side dish but just completely ran out of time. Sunday morning, I was in Asheville after the Montford Music and Arts Fest, so I basically drove into town, whipped something up, and then people started showing up for the finale. The inspiration for this potato salad was the beautiful fennel that came in our Vegetable Husband baskets last week, and I thought the salad came out delightfully!

You guys, the series finale for LOST is just two little days away. LOST is one of my favorite shows, and I’m actually pretty emotional about the upcoming finale. We have folks over to watch every single week. Last year, when my surgery was the same day as a new episode, I tried to convince Dave to bring folks to the hospital to watch. Though I will confess that he was right and I was too doped up that night to watch it. In conclusion, I am serious about LOST, and the series finale is a big deal!

We’re having all of our favorite LOST fans over on Sunday for a pre-show potluck cookout, and I’m going to zoom back from Asheville as fast as I can to get ready for the finale. In honor of my favorite show’s ending, I thought it would be fun to round up some photos from LOST parties!

I think it’s that LOST skipped a week…I really wanted to go all-out last night with snacks and drinks! After whipping up those Orange Ginger Cupcakes, I remembered that there was a can of lychees in the pantry from that trip to Super H with Charlie and Steph.

My sister and I had made lychee martinis before, but my vodka supply was low and that didn’t feel like so much of an island-themed drink anyway. Then I remembered that we had some rum! YES! It was so on. Here’s the recipe:

We made: pairs of 1″ buttons, [...]]]> My friends Ally, Christy, and I are pretttty pumped about the LOST season 6 premiere. So excited, in fact, that we may or may not have spent the better part of Sunday evening making LOST-themed snacks and party favors for Tuesday!

We made: pairs of 1″ buttons, Dharma cupcake toppers, fish biscuits, a Hurley shirt, and Dharma beer coozies.

Folks got really excited on Twitter and Facebook when I mentioned the coozies. They were so simple and fun to make, I thought I’d post a little tutorial here!
