Munnies are blank vinyl toys produced by [...]]]> Dave and I are huge designer toy fans. We have a cute little collection that’s sort of all over every surface in the living room. Of course, I’m also a little Munny-obsessed. I even modded out my own for a show at MINT gallery last year.

Munnies are blank vinyl toys produced by Kid Robot. The idea is to mod them out to be whatever you want them to be! Here are a few kickass Munny mods:

Here’s what you’re lookin’ at (clockwise from the top left):

  1. San Smith’s beautiful 7 inch custom Munny with Baroque Rococo type design from that same MINT show.
  2. Mr. Turnip by Steve Talkowski. I just loved his landscape belly and the little heart on the one leg!
  3. A totally rad crochet-covered Munny by Pepperberry.
  4. Mustachioed Munny that Bleeding Edges made as a gift for a tattoo artist friend.

My little sis gave me a 3″ Munny for Christmas that’s been calling to me from its spot on the bookshelf lately. Part of me wants to try something involving Sculpey this time.

This weekend so far has been super-hectic and wonderful. I completely forgot to take a single picture!

Yesterday morning, SuperCute! set up at the East Atlanta Strut. It was a wonderful day with wonderful people! We had perfect weather, a prime spot to watch the parade and got to gab with lots [...]]]>

This weekend so far has been super-hectic and wonderful. I completely forgot to take a single picture!

Yesterday morning, SuperCute! set up at the East Atlanta Strut. It was a wonderful day with wonderful people! We had perfect weather, a prime spot to watch the parade and got to gab with lots of old pals! Thanks to all the fine folks who made it out to say hi.

At the show Liz, Lori and I got to gabbing about my merch. They gave some really great advice, and I made some decisions. First of all, I’m bringing back the stainless steel lunchboxes. I really think they make the kits feel like…well…kits. Also, I’m going to pick up some frames for my collages. They’re still going to be listed unframed on Etsy, but I want them ready to hang when we do shows. Those ladies are so smart!

After the Strut, Dave helped us load up and whisked me home to get ready for the Munny show at MINT. He surprised me with roses, a bottle of wine and two packs of my favorite gum! How sweet is that?? Some leftover Chinese, a shower and a nice glass of wine later, we were on the way to see the show. It was kind of surreal. This was probably due in part to a long day in the sun, but I don’t think that’s all of it. Somehow, it felt different than at the Strut. Maybe I’m used to the mellow craft show vibe? Who knows! It was really fun – so fun that we stayed out far later than we meant to. We didn’t get home until around 11!

Today is a birthday brunch for Meghan, one of my very favorite

Saturday during the day, SuperCute! is setting up at The East Atlanta Strut. The artist market runs from 10am until 6pm. It’s going to be an awesome show right smack in the middle of the East Atlanta Village.

After the Strut, I’m going to zoom home, clean myself up and head over to MINT Gallery for Munnybrella, a designer toy show! Participants each purchased a blank Munny doll to mod out however they wanted. Mine is a little tree friend, who remains un-named.

Mun is Dun!

It’s going to be a really long day, and I kind of can’t wait!!!

It’s finished! Months and months ago, I ordered a Munny from Kid Robot. Since then, it’s been sitting in the den, taunting me with its blankness. I finally got an idea a couple of weeks ago: turn the Munny into a tree! Lots of cutting, paint, moss, cupcake toppers and glue later, he’s done! Hurrah!

It just so happens that my idea hit at just the right time! There is going to be a Munny show at MINT gallery on September 22nd! Hurrah! They said I wasn’t too late to enter, so you can meet my Munny in person there! That is the same day as the East Atlanta Strut, but I’m planning to drag my exhausted self over to MINT to check it out, too!

In other news, I wrote a little post over on Ecolocalizer on planting a fall garden. The container garden out front sort of has me plant-crazy! Lori hooked me up with a cabbage plant, and I’m trying to get some basil to sprout roots. I think I need more pots!
