Here’s my (very short) vegan boot wish list!

Chocolate brown L9 boots from Arcopedico. They’re machine washable! They’re also $131, [...]]]> I know, it’s still not quiiite Fall, but we’ve had that cloudy, blustery weather on and off, and it’s got me thinking about tights and scarves and boots! Here’s my (very short) vegan boot wish list!

It’s just three little pairs…

  1. Chocolate brown L9 boots from Arcopedico. They’re machine washable! They’re also $131, which is sort of out of my price range.
  2. Moo Shoes is my go-to for vegan footwear, and I’m really digging these tan Novacas. I think they’d go with everything!
  3. But let’s be honest here: I think I might be saving up for these Simple Toematillos! They’re only $67.50 over at Moo Shoes, and they feature my current color obsession, too! Also, I’m a sucker for big buttons, and these have 2 on each boot!

Writing about that reminded me that my friend Rob posted some pics to Flickr of the Alamo Square Shoe Garden in San Francisco that had me totally intrigued!

It’s apparently just in a little corner of Alamo Square Park, and city gardener David Clifton put it together. During rounds of trash pickup, he kept finding discarded shoes. Rather than send these to the dumpster, he started using them in the garden’s beds.

After a while, folks began leaving shoes for him just for the shoe garden! I think the whole thing is sort of magical. If you want to check out the whole story of the Shoe Garden, check out this great piece from SFGate!
