Happy Thanksgiving, you guys! It has been a big year here at G&G HQ, and there is so much that I’m grateful for. We get so caught up in the food and shopping parts of Thanksgiving weekend (myself included!) that I think it’s easy to forget that today is about sharing gratitude. I’d love to hear what you’re thankful for, too!
I’m forever thankful for my amazing husband, Dave. He is so supportive of my dreams, and this year I’m thankful that he and I got a chance to collaborate on a project that should be finished very soon!
I’m grateful for my friends and family. With this baby on the way, the amazing people in our lives have shone even brighter. You guys make this magical time even more special by being a part of it!
Speaking of this baby, I am thankful for him every day. He’s in my thoughts no matter what I’m doing, and I can’t wait to meet him!
I’m also so thankful for the fantastical people that I get to work with. It’s taken a long time to get here, but it’s so worth the effort to work every day with writers and editors who are so passionate, driven, and creative. You guys wow me on a daily basis.
I’ve also been feeling incredibly lucky this year for the life that we have. Because of the research I do for my writing, I read a lot about people who are not so fortunate. I’m grateful for a cozy house, for drinkable water that comes right out of the tap when I turn it on, for lights and heat at the flip of a switch.
There was A Softer World comic recently that really summed up how I’ve been feeling lately so well. It said, “Imagine how happy you might be if you spent less time imagining how happy you might be,” and the alt text read, “Or if you were rich, or whatever.” This really rung true to me this year. We have so much, and sometimes it’s easy to lose sight of that. I’m grateful that we have a day to think about how lucky we really are.
