A sweet and tart banana and raspberry smoothie is filled with fruit and even has a little bit of protein in it from chia seeds.

This banana raspberry smoothie is another preview recipe from my green smoothie cookbook: 40 Days of Green Smoothies. It's a quick and easy breakfast or snack with an amazing flavor!
Frozen banana is the secret to this smoothie's thick, creamy texture. When you blend frozen banana, it gets an almost ice cream-like texture. A little water helps get things moving, so this smoothie is thick but still sippable.
The other secret ingredient in this raspberry banana smoothie is parsley. If you've never used parsley in a smoothie, I encourage you to give it a try. Just a little bit adds a fresh flavor that's hard to describe and also hard to stop sipping!
🍌 Ingredients and substitutions
- frozen banana - You can use fresh banana, but frozen really changes the texture of this smoothie.
- frozen raspberries - Fresh is fine to use, too.
- chia seeds - You can use other seeds, like flax meal or hemp seeds, if you like. The seeds add some sneaky protein.
- water - To get that blender moving! How much you'll need depends on how thick you want your smoothie and on your fruit and your blender.
- ice - Adds even more thickness!
🥛 How to make a banana raspberry smoothie
