Lost the backing to your earring? Use a wine cork to make a DIY earring back in just a few easy steps!
I’m not 100 percent sure how I did it, but I managed to lose an earring back within hours of buying a new pair of earrings at the Indie Craft Experience. I was super bummed, because you can’t really buy a single earring back, and I don’t have any other post earrings that I could snag one from.
Luckily, I was able to raid my stash of wine corks and whip up a new earring back in just a few minutes! It took less time to make this thing than it did for me to lose it or to figure out that I could replace my lost earring back this way.

DIY Earring Back from a WineCork
To make your DIY earring back, you need:
- 1 plastic wine cork
- serrated knife
- the skinniest straight pin you can find
