This blueberry cardamom smoothie is a healthy, sweet treat, and it couldn't be simpler to make.
This has been a cookbook-heavy week around here. On Monday, I shared a recipe from Robin Robertson's new book Cook the Pantry (don't forget to enter the giveaway!) And today I have a lovely, refreshing smoothie from my friend Kelli Roberts' new e-book, Blend it Up. Kelli is a vegan cooking instructor and long-time friend. I'm so excited that she's released her first cookbook! She's also extending a special discount to Glue and Glitter readers from now until 10/23/2015. If you purchase Blend it Up through this special link, you can get it fo 10% off until next Friday.
Blend it Up is what it says it is: a recipe book for the blender. Of course, it's packed with smoothie recipes, but there are also juices and nut milks, sauces, soups, snacks, and even desserts. Get ready to love your blender more than ever, y'all.
What I love about this blueberry cardamom smoothie is that it has a lovely, sophisticated flavor with very few ingredients. There are only four ingredients in this smoothie, so you can throw it together quickly for breakfast or a snack.
If you want to make this smoothie into a meal, try tossing in some raw cashews, chia or flax, or hemp hearts. The blueberry and banana would also mask a couple of leaves of your favorite dark-and-leafies really well. I love the versatility of this simple recipe.
