    Follow Your Heart Feta review

We ate these crumbles on a salad with Good & Gather Falafel and vinaigrette dressing. It was a really nice, easy meal!

I also made sure to taste some of the feta on its own to get an idea of its flavor without dressing on it.

Y'all, I was a fan! The texture was nice and creamy from the coconut oil base, though I didn't detect a coconut flavor. Instead, it was tangy and salty with a little bit of the funkiness that I associate with nice cheeses.

It also worked great on the salad! I love a Greek salad, and while they are still tasty without feta, it felt very good to bring feta back into the mix. Welcome, old friend!

Follow Your Heart Feta also melts nicely, so don't be afraid to add it to hot food. It does get a bit liquidy when it melts, so don't expect a crust of feta on top of a casserole. But it will impart that good, feta flavor and creaminess to warm dishes.

I'll definitely be buying this vegan feta again.

    The ingredients

When it comes to vegan cheese, people always want to know what it's made of, and I get it! If you're used to cheese made from dairy milk, the whole idea of vegan cheese might seem like a mystery.

Follow Your Heart's Dairy-Free Feta Crumbles are made from coconut oil with seasonings and starch to give it a feta-like taste and texture.

Here's the full ingredients list from the Follow Your Heart website:

Filtered Water, Organic Coconut Oil, Modified Potato Starch,Potato Starch, Sea Salt, Less than 2% of: Potato Protein, Natural Flavors, Organic Vegan Cane Sugar, Calcium Phosphate, Lactic Acid

I love how simple these ingredients are! I'm feeling very emboldened to just smother my next salad in this feta.

    Where to buy it

We got our container of Follow Your Heart Feta Crumbles at Whole Foods, but it's also available at Sprouts Farmers Market and independent natural foods stores.

The Follow Your Heart site has a store locator where you can select the product you're looking for and find stores that carry it in your area. So cool!

Have you seen Follow Your Heart Feta in any grocery chains I haven't listed? Let me know, and I'll add that information to this review.

    Ways to use it

Truly, use this anywhere that you'd use dairy feta!

    • Sprinkle it onto a Greek salad.
    • Stir it into a simple pasta dish, like my creamy Instant Pot pasta.
    • Jazz up some pizza with it.
    • Veganize your favorite spanakopita recipe.
    • Fold it into your mac and cheese to give it some flair.
