Peeling and seeding an avocado doesn't have to be a pain. Here's how to cut avocado the easy way.
I strongly believe that vegan cooking doesn't have to be hard or complicated. That's the whole point of this blog and the recipes I share here. On top of choosing easy recipes, though, there are tons of little ways to make cooking easier. They're small things, like learning how to cut avocado without losing your mind or how to cut up tofu into perfect cubes.
Over on my YouTube channel, I'm starting a mini series of quick & easy vegan cooking tips like these, and I'd love to hear from you! Check out some of the tips I've created so far, and please drop a comment or shoot me an email if there is something you'd like to see.
1. How to Cut Avocado
Cutting and peeling an avocado can be super frustrating, but it doesn't have to be! There are actually a couple of methods you can use to get the pit out, but the one shown in the video below is my favorite. I'm clumsy, and this is the pit-removing method that doesn't make me worried about losing a finger!
2. How to Cut Tofu
One technique that I love to share in my cooking classes is how to cut tofu into perfect cutlets or cubes. If you're new to tofu, this method can really help you slice and dice like a pro. It's all about thinking of that block of tofu in terms of rectangles, and halving those rectangles to get the results that you want.
3. How to Make Ginger Puree
If you hate mincing up fresh ginger for recipes, this is a really handy thing to have in your fridge. It takes maybe 3 minutes to make, and you can refrigerate or freeze the puree, depending on how long you need to store it.
I have more of these little tips videos, plus lots of quick and easy recipe videos on my YouTube channel. I don't share every YouTube video in this space, so if you liked these, I hope you'll subscribe for more!
