    Are Ocho Coconut Minis vegan?

Yeah they are! Organic Ocho Coconut candy is free from animal products. Here's the ingredients list:

*Dark Chocolate (*+Cacao Beans, *Evaporated Cane Sugar, *+Cocoa Butter, Sunflower Lecithin), *Tapioca Syrup, *+Coconut, *Sugar (*Cane Sugar, *Tapioca Starch), Water, Sea Salt, *Sunflower Lecithin, And *Vanilla Extract.

Asterisks denote organic ingredients, and the little plus sign means that the ingredients are also fair trade.

They even use organic sugar, which is great news. Not all sugar is vegan, because of bone char, but organic sugar doesn't use bone char in the processing. That means that the sugar in Ocho's mini coconut bars is vegan!

    Ocho Coconut Candy Review

Ocho mini coconut bars are similar to a Mounds bar. They're little lumps of sweetened coconut flakes encased in dark chocolate. Unlike a Mounds bar, though, Ocho coconut candy bars are dairy-free and made with organic and Fair Trade ingredients.

A serving is two minis, and they come individually wrapped. I wasn't wild about how much plastic was involved, to be honest, but I'm not sure if it's actually more plastic than a full-sized candy bar.

Wow, did we love these! They were just an instant hit.

The dark chocolate was smooth, creamy, and sweet. Even if you're not a dark chocolate fan, I recommend giving these a try. The chocolate in the Ocho minis does have a bitter edge, but it's well balanced with sweetness.

The chocolate coating is also nice and thick! The bottoms, especially, have a thick coating of chocolate. It's the perfect amount to go with the sweet, coconut filling.

We both just loved the Ocho Coconut Minis, and I already have them on my shopping list, so we won't run out. Ocho also makes full-sized organic coconut bars, which I want to find, as well.

    Where to buy the minis

I picked up this bag of Ocho Coconut Minis at Target, but this candy is pretty widely available. You can find it at:

    • Walmart
    • Rite Aid
    • Kroger

You can also buy them on the Ocho website and from other online retailers.
