Vegan Rob's Puffs review
Vegan Rob's makes eight varieties of puffs, and today we are trying two of them, one sweet and one savory:
- Moringa Puffs
- Cheddar Puffs
While we were talking about it, we realized that Dave and I have both also had their Cauliflower Puffs, but it was long ago, so let's not consider this an official review of those.
As of this writing, all Vegan Rob's Puffs are organic sorghum-based. In the episode, we mentioned an article that Becky wrote a long, long time ago about sorghum for How Stuff Works.
The texture of these was light and crispy. Think cheese puffs, but with a different flavors.
Moringa Puffs
The Moringa Puffs were lightly sweet, and the ingredients list included ginger, turmeric, and lemon, which neither of us could really taste.
They sort of had a vibe of a less-sweet kettle corn. Crunchy, lightly sweet, and very pleasant to munch on.
If you like kettle corn but find it overly sweet, I think you'll love these puffs!
Vegan Cheese Puffs
We are a house divided on the Cheddar Puffs. I loved them. So cheesy! A bit salty, but as a treat, they were super delicious, and I will definitely be eating them again.
Dave thought that they were too cheesy and really disliked them. What does that even mean: too cheesy??
