This week on the pod, we ordered Green Sprout delivery and tasted three flavors of Good & Gather Plant Based Dips + Spreads.

News: Dandies marshmallow fluff
Exciting news in the marshmallow world: Dandies announced that they are releasing a vegan marshmallow fluff!
Traditional marshmallow fluff contains eggs and/or gelatin, and there hasn't been an easy-to-find vegan options at stores for years. That's all about to change!
The vegan marshmallow fluff will hit stores in summer of 2022.
I am super excited about this news. Bring on the fluffernutter sandwiches!
We got Green Sprout delivery!
On Friday night, our friends Charlie and Stephanie came over for dinner and games. We played the new Disney Jungle Cruise board game, which was very fun. But first! We feasted on vegan Chinese food from Green Sprout.
The extremely exciting news we have to report from that delivery order is that Green Sprout seems to have gone back to using the old "chicken" drumsticks! Longtime listeners have heard me and Dave lament about them switching suppliers to drumsticks that were pretty meh, so we are over the moon that our beloved drumsticks are back!
On top of the drumsticks, Dave and I each got our usual orders.
I had the mushroom soup, empire chicken, and brown rice. The mushroom soup has a clear broth and just a ton of various mushrooms in it. It's simple and so good. Their empire chicken is my fave - fried vegan chicken pieces in a sweet-spicy sauce with lots of veggies.
Dave's go-to at Green Sprout is to order two entrees and combine them into one, mega entree. He gets their vegetable udon noodles and mixes them with the tofu and mixed vegetables. It's enough for one dinner and at least two lunches.
We ate Good & Gather Plant Based Dips + Spreads!
At Target last week, Dave grabbed all three savory varieties of Target's new Good & Gather Plant Based Dip + Spread. We ate them with crackers and pretzels all weekend!
Let's go through them in the order that we ate them.
The everything bagel dip was light and creamy and not too salty. The package pictures it spread onto a bagel, which Dave and I agreed would not be ideal. It had a consistency closer to sour cream than cream cheese.
As a dip, though, it's lovely. All of the amazing onion-garlic-sesame-poppyseed flavors shine through in this dip, which we will definitely get again.
This was hands-down our favorite of the three. The pizza dip had a thicker texture than the everything bagel or the French onion. We were both fans of this texture.
With crackers, it was good but on the salty side. The magic comes in when you dip a pretzel into it.
Y'all, it tastes like a pizza Combo, and it is a revelation. Just typing this out, I need to take a break to dip a pretzel.

...and we're back!
The last dip we tried -- and our least favorite of the three -- was the French Onion dip.
I just found it bland, even when I tried some on its own. There was no detectable onion flavor for me. It was also incredibly salty. The texture was nice, and I could see it working as a topping for a baked potato or beans and rice.
Dave was a little bit more into this dip. He said that on a pretzel, he could taste the onion. But he also agreed that it was only okay and the least exciting of the three.
Have you had any of these dips? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
